Learn Chinese with Me 1: Student’s Book with 2CDs Review
I have lived in China for one year and used several different books for learning the language. This is one of the best series that I have seen. I use this book and a along with a book by Tuttle. This book is good for all the basics of speaking, reading and writting. This series starts with basic words and continues to build on previous lessons. The textbook and workbook use a mixture of new and old words in the lessons which is very helpful in retaining characters that were previously learned. The series is better than the computer programs that are often sold in stores because it gives the meaning of individual words rather than just phrases. This enables the learner to put the words together to form other sentences. The book also includes some information on stroke order, particularly in the workbook. It’s weakness is that it doesn’t include stroke order with every character.
